Their decisions were influenced primarily by four factors that included their personalities and multilingual identities, their current life experiences and their relational affordances. First, the MQ data were analyzed to determine the participants' choices in terms of their pragmatics. The data were classified according to Ishihara's (2010) definition of pragmatic resistance. Then, we compared the choices made by the participants with their linguistic performance on the DCTs to determine if they are indicative of pragmatic resistance. In addition, the interviewees were asked to justify their choice of pragmatic behavior in a specific situation.

The results of the MQs and DCTs were then analysed using descriptive statistics and Z-tests. It was found that CLKs often resorted to euphemistic responses such as "sorry" and "thank you." But it is advisable for future researchers to revisit their applicability in specific situations and in various contexts. This will allow them to better understand the effects of different cultures on the behavior of students and classroom interactions of students from L2.
